Very happy with this find from Saturday, from pasture that I've been on several times before.
I've done a bit of research and its 'Old English' in style which came in around 1760 and as it is hallmarked on the back of stem towards the bowl, its likely to be pre-1780.

I've been on a silver spoon forum and they enhanced the image (below left) finally settled on this mark (below right) as the most likely.
Although it is very worn on the spoon, the star is the right six-pointed style and the only one I could find, plus its the mark of Thomas Northcote (registered Aug 1776) so its the right date and he was apparently a known spoonmaker.
